Getting started

What is JacCode?

JacCode is an unrestricted AI that can help you in every area. It is a Windows desktop app that works as an AI coding assistant: it opens a local project, reads and edits its files, runs build and test commands, and shows you every step it takes.

It is built on the open-source project OpenCode and runs on its own models, JCoder 5.6 Flash and JCoder 5.6.

What do I need to run it?

A 64-bit PC with Windows 10 or later, an internet connection and a JacCode account. Install the EXE, then register or sign in inside the app.

Do I need an API key or an AI provider account?

No. You sign in with your JacCode account and the models are already connected. You don't choose an inference provider or bring a personal API key.

Where can I join the community?

In the JacCode Discord. Meet the community and share what you're building. If you have a payment issue, open a ticket there.

Plans and usage

Which model comes with each plan?

Free includes JCoder 5.6 Flash only. Pro 5x and Pro 20x include the flagship JCoder 5.6 with all four reasoning levels.

Which plan should I pick for agentic work?

Pro 5x is the recommended starting point for agentic coding. Pro 20x has the highest weekly allowance.

How do usage allowances work?

Input, output, reasoning and background requests all count toward your allowance. Free has a five-hour window and a weekly window; the Pro plans only have a weekly window.

The app shows remaining percentages and reset times. Running out of usage never deletes your projects or uninstalls the app. Any banked reset credits can be redeemed in the app and may expire.

How does buying a paid plan work?

Pick a plan and sign in with your JacCode account. The plan is added automatically once payment is confirmed, and each purchase adds one calendar month. Renewal is manual, so there are no automatic charges. When a paid month ends, the account returns to Free.

Files, tools and privacy

Where are my code and conversations stored?

On your PC. Conversations and working files stay local; the relevant content goes to the authenticated JacCode AI service only when a request needs it.

Your password is not stored locally. The app keeps you signed in with revocable session credentials protected by Windows.

Can JacCode change files without asking?

Only if you allow it. Read only blocks edits and commands, Ask first asks before applicable actions, and Full access lets it work directly inside your workspace policy.

Which files can I attach?

Text and code files, PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF images, PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Each file can be up to 8 MiB, PDFs up to four pages, with up to ten files per message. Office macros are never run.

Can I connect my own tools?

Yes, through local and remote MCP servers that you manage in Settings. MCP sampling and elicitation are not supported.

What happens to my work when the app updates?

Updates install automatically and are signed and hash-verified. Chats, projects, settings, attachments and your sign-in are kept.
